Ministry of Industry and Trade proposes tightening input materials for export production

Faced with unpredictable fluctuations in global trade, the Ministry of Industry and Trade has advised industry associations and export enterprises to strengthen strict control of input materials, diversify markets, etc.

The Ministry of Industry and Trade has just sent an official dispatch to export industry associations, manufacturing and export enterprises when the international trade situation is changing rapidly and unpredictably in the context of the United States applying tariff policies to many countries in the world, including Vietnam.

Accordingly, the Ministry of Industry and Trade requests that export industry associations closely coordinate with State management agencies to promptly provide information on policy mechanisms and international trade market movements to advise and guide member enterprises to proactively develop plans in production and export.

At the same time, the association is the focal point to support member enterprises in expanding and diversifying the supply of input materials for export production, limiting dependence on a single imported raw material market.

For export enterprises, proactively develop plans to adapt to the new international trade situation by seeking customers and partners from import markets with much room and potential for exploitation and development.

Notably, the Ministry of Industry and Trade recommends that enterprises consider the supply of raw materials to produce export goods, ensuring the requirements of importers, traceability of products and origin of exported goods.

According to the Ministry of Industry and Trade, strict control of input materials is considered a proactive response solution, ensuring the harmony of interests between Vietnam and partners without disrupting the production and business activities of domestic enterprises.

Recently, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh also signed a decision to establish a Government Negotiation Delegation on a reciprocal trade agreement with the United States, headed by Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hong Dien. The Delegation will negotiate with this country to reach a reciprocal trade agreement that is appropriate, balanced, mutually respectful and mutually beneficial.
