Rice exports in 2024 in the Mekong Delta will reach about 8 million tons
According to Ms. Phan Thi Thang – Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade, one of the important solutions for the Mekong Delta economy is to promote regional linkages in trade promotion and import and export, in order to gather and optimize the resources of localities in the region to serve sustainable development. Localities in the region need to strengthen their strengths and minimize their internal weaknesses to contribute to making intra-regional trade, domestic trade and import and export activities of the region stronger.

Ms. Phan Thi Thang shares some solutions for economic development in the Mekong Delta.
Accordingly, the region needs to promote the development of a number of key export sectors with potential, advantages and suitability for the region in the fields of agriculture and industry; build high-quality product brands, deeply participate in the distribution network and global value chain, develop export markets for the region’s strong products; digital transformation and regional trade promotion linkages; develop logistics services and strengthen the linkage of distribution enterprises in the region’s import and export activities.
The Ministry of Industry and Trade will coordinate to resolve issues that localities in the region are still facing regarding trade promotion linkages, import and export development, etc.
